Easter Weekend
Very busy over Easter weekend, with a wedding at The Cutlers Hall in Sheffield, followed by a Sunday wedding out at Holdsworth House Halifax. Both the weddings were great fun, and we all enjoyed spectacular weather. My thanks to Naheed and Ghok for letting me take them around Sheffield city centre for a great photo shoot, the peace gardens resembled Blackpool, with kids running around playing in the fountains. Cutlers Hall is a fantastic venue, with splendid chandeliers and a grand staircase. Sunday was an early start for me, as I had to travel over to Halifax to shoot the Bridal preparations. Holdsworth House is a lovely venue sat in the middle of the pennines on the outskirts of Halifax, with its fine country interior and wonderful gardens. Again the weather was brilliant, a bit chillier than saturday due to a freshening wind, but Jennifer and Andrew enjoyed some wonderful sunshine as the wedding party enjoyed their drinks in the gardens. Thanks to both of them for being fun and for a wonderful day.

Wood Hall Wedding
Had a fantastic day up at Wood hall near Wetherby, the place is sumptous. Lee and Sarah were the couple tying the knot, and were absolute stars throughout the day. Sarah gave Lee a terrific wedding day present, really was something for the weekend sir!!! Who would turn down an Aston Martin vanquish, certainly looked the part, and sounded awesome. Anyone wishing to get married in a country house with a modern twist, should have a look at this venue. The weather held up nicely, chilly but bearable, and no rain !! Took along my big bad boy lens a 300 mm f2.8 and managed shoot a nice sequence of Sarah's garter falling down as she was walking. All in all a great day. Hope the Brighton boys behaved?

My style of photography
I am often asked this question, I guess the truth is I dont have a style as such, I have my own ideas on what images I want to shoot at a wedding. I like shooting in a documentary fashion, with plenty of " as it happens images", I like to find different angles and light to change the ordinary into the beautiful, I also shoot some formal pictures of the bridal parties, as weddings are about getting the family together. Its all about having some fun, and keeping my clients at ease, and making sure you fit into their day, not dominating it.
Some of my favourite Wedding locations
I thought I would put down some of my favourite wedding locations, this isnt just based on its pictorial beauty, its also about service, and how my clients are treated during the Wedding day festivities.
Mount Pleasant near Bawtry, Owston Hall, Oulton Hall near Leeds, Allerton Castle, Whirlow Brook Hall near Sheffield, Cubley Hall near Penistone, Hazlewood Castle near Tadcaster,

A new wedding year
My wedding year started earlier than usual this year, with several weddings taking place in the midst of winter. So its pretty much a case of crossing everything hoping the weather is going to behave. Like last week, when on location at a wedding, got soaked through to the skin during a fifteen minute downpour. Whilst the bride and groom sheltered under the only brolly. Once we were back inside the confines of a warm hotel, all my equipment steamed up. What a lovely job:)
